Liputan6.com, Jakarta Former NCT boy group member Taeil was officially arrested on Wednesday, July 10, 2025, after being sentenced to three years and six months in prison for sexual assault.
However, the verdict sparked disappointment among netizens.

Many considered the sentence too light compared to the severity of the crime committed.
"3 years and 6 months for gang raping a woman and permanently scarring her life? There is no justice for women. There is absolutely none. He should be tortured for the rest of his life, which still doesn't compare to what he did to that woman. Absolutely ridiculous," wrote @hanbintheclouds.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office's Women and Children's Crimes Investigation Division 1 previously indicted Taeil and two accomplices on February 28, 2025 on charges of aggravated rape under the Sexual Crimes Punishment Act.
They were accused of sexually assaulting an intoxicated foreign woman in June 2024.
All three pleaded guilty to the charges.
Prosecutors also demanded that each of them be sentenced to seven years in prison.
However, the defense said that Taeil and the victim had reached an agreement, so they asked for leniency.
On July 10, 2025, the judge sentenced Taeil to three years and six months in prison, which was half of the prosecutor's recommended sentence.
Taeil was immediately detained after the trial.
