Liputan6.com, Jakarta The discovery of the decomposing body of Pakistani actress and model Humaira Asghar Ali (32) in her apartment revealed heartbreaking facts.

Humaira Asghar Ali is thought to have died nine months before her body was found on Tuesday (July 8).

Based on digital and forensic evidence collected by investigators, Humaira is believed to have died in October 2024.

Humaira was found lying after court bailiffs broke down the door of her apartment in Karachi this week.

Condition of the body

The last posts on Ali's Facebook and Instagram accounts were recorded the previous year. Image source: Instagram.

Previously, police estimated the time of death to be about a month ago due to the badly decomposed condition of the body.

But an investigation into Ali's last cellphone and social media activity, as well as neighbors' accounts, prompted a major shift in the estimated time of his death.

"As per the Call Detail Record (CDR), the last call was made in October 2024," Deputy Inspector General of Police, Syed Asad Raza, told Arab News.

The last posts on Ali's Facebook and Instagram accounts were recorded in September 2024.

None of the neighbors had seen him since then.

In fact, the condition of the apartment reinforces the suspicion: expired food, rusty jars, dried-up water pipes, and electricity that has been cut off since October due to arrears.

"The jars are rusty, and the food expired six months ago," said an investigator who declined to be named.

Location of the body found

The apartment's secluded location, with only one other unit on the same floor, was an important factor in why the deaths were not detected earlier.

"After 10 to 15 days, the odor will start to diminish. The balcony door was also left open," said the second investigator.

Until now, Humaira Asghar Ali's family has not collected her body.

It is unclear whether there was internal conflict or other reasons behind the refusal.

Humaira Asghar Ali gained recognition through her win at the Veet Miss Super Model 2014 event and her appearance on the reality show Tamasha Ghar.

She has also starred in several TV dramas and movies, including Jalaibee and Love Vaccine.
