Liputan6.com, Jakarta Actor Ryan Gosling is set to star in a new action comedy film titled Tough Guys, produced by Amazon and MGM Studios. In this project, he will act with senior comedy actor Will Ferrell.

According to Deadline's report, the film will tell the story of two former criminals who are trying to leave the world of crime. The script for this movie was written by Daniel Gold.

Nevertheless, the director's name has not been announced to date.

Getting involved as producers

Gosling and Ferrell are also reportedly in talks to be involved as producers through their respective production companies: Open Invite Entertainment and Gloria Sanchez Productions.

Open Invite's Jessie Henderson and Gloria Sanchez's Jessica Elbaum are also attached as producers, with Underground's Trevor Engelson and Aaron Folbe as executive producers.

Interestingly, Tough Guys reinforces the unique trend in Gosling's career of starring in movies with the word “guy” or “man” in the title.

Didn't achieve significant gains

Previously, he played in The Nice Guys (2016), The Fall Guy (2024), First Man (2018), and The Gray Man (2022).

Although some of Gosling's action-comedy films did not achieve significant profits at the box office, the reunion of Gosling and Ferrell after both appeared in Barbie, which became the highest-grossing film of that year, is considered promising.

Their presence in Tough Guys is expected to enhance the movie's commercial potential if it is released on the big screen.
