Liputan6.com, Jakarta Instagram, the popular social media platform, has just recently launched an innovative feature that its users have long been waiting for.

This feature, known as Instagram reposting, allows users to reshare Reels and public feed posts directly to their own profiles.

The global rollout of this feature began on August 6, 2025, marking a significant change in how content is interacted with on the platform.

With this feature, users no longer need to use unofficial methods like screenshots or third-party apps to share their favorite content.

"With reposts, you can repost public reels and feed posts, making it easier for you to share your interests with your friends," Meta said on its official website.

The main goal of this reposting feature is to increase interaction between users and expand the reach of shared content.

This makes it easier for anyone to share information or entertainment they find interesting.

Users can now easily support their favorite creators or spread important messages with just a few taps.

To access this latest feature, ensure your Instagram app is updated to the latest version available.

Instagram now features a built-in reposting feature that makes it easy for users to reshare public posts and Reels.

To ensure you have access to this feature, it's important to always update to the latest version of the Instagram app.

This feature officially began rolling out globally on August 6, 2025, bringing new convenience to its billions of users.

Using the Instagram reposting feature is very intuitive. For feed posts, you'll find a new repost icon between the comment icon and the share button.

Simply tap it to share the post with your followers.

Meanwhile, when browsing the Reels tab, the repost icon will appear on the right side, alongside the like, comment, and share buttons, making sharing easier.

One of the advantages of this feature is the ability to add personal comments to your reposts.

After tapping the repost icon, you can tap your profile icon that appears on the left to type a comment.

This comment will appear floating above the post when your followers see it in their feeds, providing additional context or your personal perspective.

Reposted content won't be mixed in with your regular posts on your main profile.

Instead, Instagram has added a new tab specifically for reposts on your profile.

You can tap the repost icon on your profile to see all the content you've previously reshared, keeping your main feed neat and curated.

The Instagram reposting feature offers significant benefits to content creators.

When your content is reposted by another user, your content's potential reach increases dramatically.

The content can be recommended to the reposter's followers, even if those followers don't follow you.

This opens up a huge opportunity for creators to reach a wider audience and gain new exposure without additional promotional efforts.

Instagram also ensures that all reposts automatically credit the original content creator.

"Reposts are credited to the original poster," Meta said on website.

"If you’re a creator, this means that if your content is reposted by someone else, it may be recommended to that person’s followers, even if those people don’t follow you."

Users also have full control over their content when it comes to reposts.

You can choose whether or not to allow reposts of your content through your privacy settings.

Simply open the Instagram app, go to Settings, then select the "Sharing" option under "How others can interact with you," and toggle the switch next to "Allow reposts" according to your preference.

If you change your mind after reposting, Instagram also provides an easy way to undo it.

Simply hold down on the thumbnail of the reposted post in your reposts tab and tap the "Delete Repost" option.

In addition to the Instagram reposting feature directly to your feed, Instagram also offers an easy way to reshare content to Stories.

If someone tags you in their Story, Instagram will automatically send a direct message with the Story.

From there, you can easily share it to your own Story, expanding the reach of that content. You can also share feed posts or Reels to your Story.

Simply tap the paper airplane icon below the post you want to share, then select the option to add it to your Story.

Afterward, you can edit the Story by adding text, GIFs, emojis, or stickers, making it more personal and engaging before sharing.

Another interesting feature is the ability to share comments from Reels or public account posts directly to your Story.

These comments will appear as stickers above the original post or Reel, allowing you to highlight interesting interactions or relevant responses.

This adds a new dimension to sharing content and interactions on Instagram.

Before this built-in Instagram reposting feature, users often relied on other, less practical methods.

These methods included taking screenshots or screen recordings of visual content, then cropping the content and creating a new post.

Some also use third-party apps that simplify the reposting process, although Instagram does not have a direct repost feature via a web browser.
