Indian Police Arrest A Pigeon Bird Because They Think It Is A Chinese Spy!

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Indian police arrested a pigeon on suspicion of being a Chinese spy after finding two rings tied to its legs with writings that appeared to be Chinese near a port in Mumbai in May 2023. The pigeon was detained and sent to an animal hospital for examination.

After an eight-month investigation, authorities concluded that the pigeon was not a spy but an open-water racing bird from Taiwan that had lost its way and ended up in India. The pigeon was subsequently released back into the wild following intervention from animal rights organizations, including PETA India.

This case is not isolated, as pigeons have historically been used for espionage during wars, and there have been other instances in India where pigeons were suspected of spying but later cleared. The bird’s innocence was confirmed through thorough detective work, and it was freed after spending eight months in custody.
