Release Date and Availability

"Call of Duty: Black Ops 7" is scheduled for a global release on November 14, 2025.

This date has been confirmed by Activision and Microsoft, making it one of the most anticipated titles of the year.

The game will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows (via Xbox on PC, Battle.net, and Steam), Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Additionally, "Black Ops 7" will be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass from day one of launch.

Background and Storyline

The story of "Black Ops 7" is set in 2035, placing it chronologically after "Black Ops 2" and "Black Ops 6."

The world is on the brink of chaos, engulfed in violent conflict and intense psychological warfare.

The main plot centers on David Mason, who leads an elite JSOC team on a covert mission to the Mediterranean city of Avalon, where they uncover a sophisticated plot that threatens the world and forces them to confront their past.

The return of terrorist Raul Menendez is a key trigger in the "Black Ops 7" narrative, sending shockwaves across the globe and becoming the crux of the conflict.

David "Section" Mason will lead the elite JSOC team, with Milo Ventimiglia playing the character.

Fan-favorite characters like Raul Menendez also return, along with the introduction of new icons like Emma Kagan, CEO of tech giant The Guild, played by Kiernan Shipka.

Michael Rooker will also reprise his role as Mike Harper.

The "Black Ops 7" story campaign can be played in single-player or co-op modes.

Gameplay Innovations and New Modes

"Black Ops 7" introduces a number of new gameplay features and significant updates that enhance the gameplay experience.

For the first time in the series, the game will feature a co-op campaign that can be played solo or with up to four players.

Every elimination, objective, and breakthrough in the Co-Op Campaign will contribute directly to Global XP, the game's global progression system.

The omnidirectional movement system introduced in "Black Ops 6," known as Omnimovement, will return and be fine-tuned in "Black Ops 7."

This feature allows players to dash, dive, and slide in any direction, providing greater freedom of movement on the battlefield.

The multiplayer experience will also be enhanced with 16 exciting 6v6 maps and two larger 20v20 maps at launch, as well as advanced new weapons and equipment suited to the 2035 setting.

A new mode called "Skirmish" will be a large-scale, multi-objective multiplayer mode.

The round-based Zombies mode will return with the largest Black Ops Zombies map ever, including new vehicle gameplay, promising a "wild" story direction and a more expansive experience.

Surprisingly, "Black Ops 7" will also include "Dead Ops Arcade 4," a stealthy top-down twin-stick shooter returning after a long absence.
