Scheduled for release in September 2025, the film is directed by Simon Curtis and rewritten by Julian Fellowes, the creator of the original series.

The film will take audiences back to the lives of aristocratic England in the 1930s, where the Crawley family and their loyal staff face significant new challenges.

As a continuation of the beloved television series and the two previous films, "Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale" promises an emotional resolution for its characters.

The film is the tribute paid to the late Dame Maggie Smith, who played the iconic Dowager Countess Violet Crawley.
