Tom Holland Suffered a Mild Concussion While Filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Tom Holland's accident occurred while he was performing a stunt involving a fall.

He hit his head hard upon landing, alarming the production team, and he was immediately rushed to the hospital.

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service confirmed an emergency call at 10:30 a.m. to Leavesden Studios for an injured patient.

Fortunately, Holland did not require hospitalization and was able to return home after a thorough medical examination.

Deadline confirmed that filming was halted on Friday as the actor was taken to the hospital, where he was examined but not treated.

A source close to the production team said he would be taking a break "as a precaution" but was expected to return to filming in a few days.

Despite his recent injury, Holland showed good spirits by appearing with his fiancée, Zendaya, at the Brothers Trust Posh Pub Quiz charity event the day after the accident.

This accident has directly impacted the production schedule for "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," the continuation of the Spider-Man saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

As Holland's fourth Spider-Man film, "Brand New Day" is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026.

This temporary production halt is expected to have minimal impact on the release schedule, although the studio has not yet issued an official statement regarding the duration of the delay.

“It’s also the first time we ever had fans on set day one, so it’s really exciting to share this with them. We’ve got some familiar faces on set. I’m just going to do my best, hopefully get it right, no pressure.”
