Liputan6.com, Jakarta Kim Kardashian once again captured the public's attention with the launch of her latest product from her lingerie brand, SKIMS.
On October 14, 2025, SKIMS officially released the "Faux Hair Micro String Thong," also known as the Skims Faux Hair Panty.

This controversial launch was driven by a unique and bold marketing campaign featuring a retro 1970s game show theme.
With the slogan "Does The Carpet Match The Drapes?", SKIMS successfully attracted widespread attention from both loyal fans and critics.
Despite the mixed reviews, the Skims Faux Hair Panty reportedly sold out within hours of its launch.
SKIMS Faux Hair Panties Details
The Skims faux hair panty is described as a hand-made thong panty made of sheer, elasticated mesh.
The front features a wig, while the side straps are elastic, and the back offers thong coverage, where the main material used is 82% polyamide and 18% elastane.
It is available in a mix of curly and straight wigs, and in twelve different color options.
These variations include clay blonde straight, clay ginger straight, clay brown curly, and cocoa black curly.
At $32, SKIMS calls this product their "boldest panty" ever released.
The unique products are available in sizes XXS to 4X.
Unique Marketing Strategy
SKIMS announced the launch of its faux hair panties on Instagram with a campaign video parodying a 1970s game show.
The post's caption read, "Just Released: The Ultimate Bush," a direct reference to the product's unique feature.
The promotional video featured the iconic question "Does The Carpet Match The Drapes?", a phrase often used to refer to matching head hair color with pubic hair.
"Just Dropped: The Ultimate Bush," the caption reads. "With our daring new Faux Hair Panty, your carpet can be whatever color you want it to be."
SKIMS's Controversial Products
The launch of the Skims faux hair panties is not the first time SKIMS has released a product that has sparked controversy.
In July, the brand released the Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap, "a must-have addition to your nighttime routine," according to a press release.
As SKIMS' first facial product, this wrap provides firm support along the jawline and neck and features a Velcro closure for easy application.
Furthermore, in July 2025, Kim Kardashian introduced a line of SKIMS face wraps.
In a 2023 TIME magazine cover story, Kardashian said that the shapewear brand was born out of a "very vulnerable" place.
"It’s just a part of me," she told the outlet. "I take it really personally. It started off of my body and my shapes, and it’s very vulnerable."
