Authorities announced that Geyser, now 22, was reported missing after cutting off her monitoring bracelet and leaving the group home where she lived.

She was due to be released on parole in early 2025, with placement in a group home under close supervision.

Morgan Geyser's Disappearance from Surveillance

On Sunday, November 23, 2025, public concern peaked when authorities announced the disappearance of Morgan Geyser.

It was reported that Geyser, now 22, had cut off her monitoring bracelet and left the group home where she was staying.

This incident happened after she was last seen around 8:00 PM on Saturday, November 22, 2025, in the area of Kroncke Drive with an adult acquaintance.

The Madison Police Department immediately responded by issuing a public alert and releasing a new image of Morgan Geyser taken from security video footage.

Geyser's attorney, Tony Cotton, stated that he had no information regarding his client's whereabouts and publicly urged Geyser to surrender to authorities.

The family of the victim, Payton Leutner, has been notified of the situation and is working with law enforcement to ensure their safety.

The Slender Man Stabbing Case

The "Slender Man" stabbing case shocked the world on May 31, 2014, when Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, both 12, lured their classmate, Payton Leutner, into a wooded area in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

There, Geyser stabbed Leutner 19 times, while Weier cheered her on.

Leutner, also 12, survived by crawling out of the woods and being found by a bicyclist.

Geyser and Weier were arrested shortly after the attack while walking on Interstate 94.

During questioning, they confessed to carrying out the brutal attack to please the fictional horror character Slender Man.

They believed that by stabbing her, they could prove Slender Man's existence and prevent him from harming their family.

During the legal proceedings, Morgan Geyser was diagnosed with early-onset schizophrenia, a serious mental health condition.

In 2017, Geyser pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree intentional murder, but claimed not to be responsible due to her mental illness.

Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Michael Bohren ordered Geyser to be committed to a psychiatric hospital for 40 years in 2018.

“I never meant this to happen,” a tearful Geyser said.

“I hope that she is doing well.”

Her partner, Anissa Weier, was also sentenced to 25 years in a psychiatric hospital and was released in 2021.

Morgan Geyser's Parole Journey

After serving seven years at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute, a psychiatric hospital, Morgan Geyser applied for parole.

In January 2025, Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Michael Bohren granted the request.

This decision came after three experts testified that Geyser had shown significant progress in overcoming her mental illness and was no longer considered an immediate threat to society.

Morgan Geyser's parole plan included placement in a group home under close supervision.

In July 2025, Judge Scott Wagner officially approved Geyser's parole from the Winnebago Mental Health Institute, and she was transferred to a group home earlier that year.
