The highly anticipated Starbucks Bearista Cups will be back in stock through the Merrython program, following the frenzy and scarcity of their initial release.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Starbucks Bearista Cup collectors and fans around the world are gearing up for the return of this popular collectible.

After its previous release in November 2025, which sparked immense enthusiasm and scarcity, Starbucks announced a Bearista Cup restock on December 8, 2025.

However, this restock will not be made through general in-store sales, but will be exclusively through the Starbucks Merrython 2025 program.

The restock announcement has reignited a heated discussion on social media, with many hoping to get their hands on the iconic "Glass Starbucks Bearista® Cold Cup."

This 20-ounce glass cup features a bear design with a green beanie lid and a green-and-white striped straw.

Starbucks Bearista Restock in Merrython 2025

In response to the enthusiasm and resulting shortage, Starbucks teased a Bearista cup restock on December 7, 2025, via an Instagram post.

The announcement directed customers to check the Starbucks app on December 8, 2025, at 4 a.m. PT.

This Glass Bearista Cup is available as an instant prize during the Starbucks Merrython 2025 program.

Customers can earn a chance to enter Merrython through weekly logins, Alternate Method of Entry (AMOE) forms, weekly challenges, or by purchasing Starbucks products.

The Merrython program runs from December 8, 2025, to January 4, 2026.

While approximately 17,000 cups will be available as prizes, this represents only about 0.17% of the total prize pool, with a chance of winning a Cold Cup of approximately 0.03%.

The Origins and Popularity of the Starbucks Bearista Cup

The "Bearista Bear" concept first appeared in the early 2000s as a plush teddy bear wearing the signature Starbucks apron.

The name "Bearista" itself is a clever play on the word "barista," depicting a bear seemingly ready to serve coffee.

Over time, Starbucks expanded the Bearista Bear line to include a variety of merchandise, including the much-loved cups.

These cups feature unique designs that vary by season, region, and year, making them highly sought-after collectibles.

Made from durable materials like glass or ceramic, Bearista cups serve not only as display items but are also suitable for everyday use.

Craze and Rarity in November

The release of the 2025 holiday edition Bearista cup on November 6, 2025, sparked an unprecedented phenomenon.

Customers were willing to wait in line for hours, some even camping overnight, to get their hands on the cup.

Unfortunately, many stores received very limited stock, sometimes only 1-3 cups per location.

This caused widespread disappointment and frustration among fans, even though Starbucks had stated that they shipped more Bearista cups than any other merchandise item that season.

This shortage was quickly exploited by third parties, with Bearista cups being resold on platforms like eBay for exorbitant prices, reaching hundreds of thousands and even up to $1,400.

Bearista Cup Alternatives on the Market

Due to the rarity and difficulty of getting the Starbucks Bearista cups, several retailers are offering similar alternatives.

One such alternative is Walmart, which has launched its own bear-shaped glass cup.

This bear cup from Walmart has a design similar to the Starbucks version, but without the trademark, gives consumers the opportunity to own a similarly designed cup at a more affordable price.

Walmart's Bearista cups range in price from around $10.63 to $34.99, making them an attractive option for those unable to secure an authentic Starbucks Bearista cup.
