Liputan6.com, Jakarta - The boxing world has once again been rocked by the announcement of a mega-fight between YouTube sensation Jake Paul and former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua.

The fight, dubbed "Judgment Day," is scheduled to take place on December 19, 2025 and streamed through Netflix, marking one of the most anticipated boxing events of the next year.

The Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, United States, will witness this eight-round bout, with both fighters competing for a reported purse of $184 million.

This announcement comes after Jake Paul canceled his planned fight against Gervonta "Tank" Davis due to Davis' legal issues.

Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua: Fight and Broadcast Details

The fight between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua will be held over eight rounds, each lasting three minutes, using 10-ounce gloves.

The bout is classified as a professional heavyweight boxing bout.

Netflix will be the primary platform to stream the event live, allowing standard subscribers to watch the main card at no additional cost.

Additionally, preliminary bouts will be available through the Most Valuable Promotions YouTube channel and Netflix's official companion site, Tudum.

With a reported purse of $184 million, the fight promises to be not only a thrilling spectacle but also one of the highest-grossing fights in modern boxing history.

Fighters Background and Profile

Jake Paul was originally scheduled to face lightweight world champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis in November 2025 but it was canceled after Davis faced civil legal issues, including allegations of assault and false imprisonment.

This cancellation paved the way for Paul to find a new opponent, and Anthony Joshua emerged as a surprising choice.

Jake Paul, nicknamed "El Gallo," hails from Cleveland, Ohio, USA, with a pre-fight record of 12-1 (7 KOs).

At 28 years and 9 months old, Paul stands 6 feet 1 inch tall and is expected to weigh between 225-230 lb.

He is known for his orthodox style and is currently ranked No. 15 in the WBA cruiserweight rankings.

On the other hand, Anthony Joshua, or "AJ," is an experienced boxer from Watford, Hertfordshire, England.

With a record of 28-4 (25 KOs), the 36-year-old Joshua stands 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 245 lb.

He is a former two-time unified heavyweight champion and is currently ranked No. 1 in the IBF/WBO heavyweight rankings and No. 2 in The Ring/TBRB heavyweight rankings.

Jake Paul's Important Announcement

Several boxing professionals have raised concerns about Jake Paul's safety, given the significant difference in experience and size between him and Anthony Joshua.

Speculation about a possible matchup has also been rife, but promoter Eddie Hearn and Joshua himself have denied these claims.

Joshua has insisted there is no "relaxation" clause in his contract.

Amidst preparations for the fight, Jake Paul made a "big announcement" that initially sparked fan concerns about the fight's cancellation.

However, the announcement turned out not to be a fight cancellation, but rather the signing of WBC women's lightweight world champion Caroline Dubois to his promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP).

Jake Paul's Strategy and Caroline Dubois' Role

Jake Paul explained that the signing of Caroline Dubois was a strategic move to "level the playing field" in his fight against Anthony Joshua.

Paul referred to Joshua's recent collaboration with Oleksandr Usyk's training staff, which is part of a significant change to his coaching team.

Paul stated, "All I want is a fair fight. Even the odds. Joshua brought in Usyk. So only right I bring in Dubois. Had to be done."

Caroline Dubois, the sister of former heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, will make her promotional debut on the undercard of the Paul vs. Joshua main event in Miami.

She is scheduled to defend her lightweight world title against Italy's Camila Panatta.

Dubois revealed that joining MVP is a crucial "next step" in her professional career.

She has big ambitions to become the face of women's boxing worldwide, and the platform provided by MVP and the 'Judgment Day' event will be the perfect stage to achieve that goal.
