In the interview, Kristin Cabot not only explained the how the incident happened but also the significant impact it had on her personal and professional life.
“I made a bad decision and had a couple of High Noons and danced and acted inappropriately with my boss. And it’s not nothing. And I took accountability and I gave up my career for that.”
Coldplay "Kiss Cam" Incident Clarified and Her Marital Status
Kristin Cabot admitted that the "kiss cam" incident at the Coldplay concert was a "bad decision" that she regrets.
She explained that the incident was triggered by alcohol consumption, specifically "a few High Noons," which led to her inappropriate behavior with her boss.
Despite this, Cabot insisted that no sexual encounter happened between her and Andy Byron.
She emphasized that they simply kissed on the night of the concert, and nothing more.
Kristin Cabot revealed that at the time of the Coldplay concert, she was in the process of divorcing her husband, Andrew Cabot, who is the CEO of a rum distillery.
Furthermore, Cabot also stated her belief that Andy Byron was also in the process of separating from his wife at the time.
Career Impact and Online Harassment
The "kiss cam" incident had serious consequences for the careers of Kristin Cabot and Andy Byron.
Both resigned from their positions at Astronomer after the company launched an internal investigation.
Cabot revealed that after the incident, she felt "unemployable" and struggled to find new employment.
She also faced significant online harassment, including death threats.
"I gave up my career for that," she said. "That's the price I chose to pay. I want my kids to know that you can make mistakes, and you can really screw up."
Kristin Cabot and Andy Byron's Current Relationship Status
Kristin Cabot has firmly stated that she no longer has any meaningful contact with Andy Byron, her former boss at Astronomer.
The two decided in September 2025 that continuing communication would be too difficult for both parties to move on and recover from the incident.
This decision came after months of communication following the incident, primarily for "crisis management advice."
However, ultimately, their communication was minimized for the common good.
Cabot explained that since that decision, interaction between her and Byron has been "minimal."
"Andy's my boss," she emphasized. "I was so embarrassed and so horrified. I'm the head of H.R. and he's the C.E.O. It's, like, so cliché and so bad."
