Registration for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games ticket lottery has officially opened, marking the beginning of the journey to the quadrennial multi-sport event.

The registration period for the LA Olympics 2028 ticket lottery runs from January 14, 2026, to March 18, 2026.

During this period, prospective spectators can register online to participate in the lottery.

After registering, participants will be entered into a lottery that will determine ticket purchase time slots.

Notification of these time slots will be sent via email between March 31 and April 7, 2026, each time slot will be active for 48 hours.


LA Olympics Ticket Lottery Schedule and Registration Process

Registration for the 2028 LA Olympics ticket lottery officially began on January 14, 2026, and will run through March 18, 2026.

It should be noted that the registration is only necessary once to be eligible for future Olympic and Paralympic ticket lotteries.

Upon successful registration, each participant will be automatically entered into the ticket lottery system.

This system is designed to randomly assign ticket purchase timeslots during several upcoming "ticket drops," to provide a fair opportunity for all interested registrants.

Notification of the assigned ticket purchase timeslots will be sent to registrants via email between March 31 and April 7, 2026 that will be active for 48 hours.

Prospective buyers are encouraged to register early to secure the best selection of tickets and events, as capacity may be full or limited at subsequent "drops."

This registration does not require any advance purchase or payment.


Priority and Early Ticket Sales for the LA Olympics

The 2028 LA Olympics will give special priority to local residents in certain regions through a pre-sale window.

This window will run from April 2 to April 6, 2026, specifically for those registering with billing zip codes in Southern California (Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, Ventura, San Bernardino) and Oklahoma (Oklahoma, Canadian, Cleveland), since these regions are the primary locations where various Olympic competitions will be held.

Local residents who meet the criteria and are selected in a lottery will receive an exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets early.

This pre-sale opportunity is a distinct advantage for residents living near the venues.Following the local pre-sale period, the first general sale, or "Drop 1," will begin.

This sale is scheduled to run from April 9 to April 19, 2026.

During this phase, tickets for various events will be available to the general public who have successfully secured a time slot.

One of the main attractions of "Drop 1" is the availability of tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games.


Olympics Ticket Purchase Details and Price

Each registrant who successfully secures a time slot at the 2028 LA Olympics is allowed to purchase up to 12 tickets per person for the Games.

If registrants do not purchase the maximum number of tickets during the allotted time slot, they will be automatically re-entered into the next drawing.

Single-event tickets will start at $28.

The LA28 committee is committed to providing affordable tickets, with a target of one million of the 14 million tickets available priced at $28.

Furthermore, approximately one-third of all tickets sold will be priced under $100, making the 2028 LA Olympics more accessible to a wide range of audiences.

More specific pricing details and a complete list of ticket categories will be available in April 2026.
