Liputan6.com, Jakarta - The gaming world was thrilled with the news of Solid Snake, the iconic character from the Metal Gear Solid series, joining Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.

Solid Snake will debut on March 3, 2026, coinciding with the launch of Operation Silent Hunt, the first season of Year 11 of Rainbow Six Siege.

As an offensive Operator, Solid Snake boasts three speed points and one health point, making him extremely fast but vulnerable.

David Hayter, the original voice actor for Solid Snake, brings the character to life with his signature dialogue.

Solid Snake's addition is more than just a character addition, but a deep integration that brings the tactical espionage elements of Metal Gear Solid into the Rainbow Six Siege arena.

Soliton Radar MKIII: Solid Snake's Unique Gadget

Solid Snake is equipped with a unique gadget called the Soliton Radar MKIII, a handheld device that functions as an advanced minimap.

This radar allows Snake to view the surrounding floor plan and detect enemies on the same floor as well as connected stairwells.

The Soliton Radar MKIII features a threat indicator that flashes in three different colors: green for "All Clear," yellow for active CCTV cameras being monitored by enemies, and red to indicate the presence of one or more active enemies in the area.

Furthermore, the gadget also features a more advanced Precision Mode.

In this mode, the radar displays position icons and cones of view of detected enemies, providing real-time information on their location and line of sight.

Adaptive On-Site Procurement (OSP) Capability

One of Solid Snake's most innovative capabilities is On-Site Procurement (OSP).

This ability allows Solid Snake to collect secondary gadgets from fallen Operators on the battlefield, both from his own team and the opposing team.

This reflects Solid Snake's signature adaptability in the Metal Gear Solid series.

With OSP, Snake can carry up to five different secondary gadgets simultaneously, including frag grenades, stun grenades, smoke grenades, impact EMPs, and explosive devices.

Although he starts the match with only one item in one of his gadget slots, the ability to stock up mid-battle makes Solid Snake a highly versatile Operator.

Solid Snake's Weapon Loadout in Rainbow Six Siege x

To support his infiltration missions, Solid Snake comes equipped with a selection of lethal weapons.

He can choose between the PMR90A2 marksman rifle or the F2 assault rifle as his primary weapon.

The F2 itself received a buff in Operation Silent Hunt, allowing players to equip it with various grip attachments such as the horizontal grip, angled grip, and vertical grip, improving control and accuracy.

Solid Snake also introduces a new secondary weapon to the game: the TACIT .45 pistol.

Designed with an integrated silencer and reflex sight, this pistol is inspired by the stealth weapons often used in the Metal Gear Solid series.

The TACIT .45 allows Snake to silently incapacitate enemies or destroy utilities, perfectly suited to his infiltration playstyle.
