Official confirmation came from UFC CEO Dana White, who initially targeted July 4, 2026, coinciding with Independence Day.However, after considering various logistical aspects and complex preparations, the date for the UFC event was ultimately changed.
The adjustment was made to June 14, 2026.
Dana White later definitively confirmed the event's completion on August 29, 2025, via a social media post, stating that "The White House Fight will take place."
The official name for this historic event, "UFC Freedom 250," was not publicly announced until March 7, 2026.
The announcement was made during the live broadcast of UFC 326, while the name also clearly refers to the 250th anniversary of the United States' independence.

UFC Freedom 250 will be a live spectacle for approximately 5,000 lucky spectators on the South Lawn of the White House.
To accommodate the wider public, a large screen will be installed on the nearby Ellipse, capable of accommodating up to 80,000 additional spectators.
Approximately 1,000 seats will be reserved for military personnel as a sign of respect.
The iconic ceremonial weigh-in is expected to take place at another historic location, the Lincoln Memorial, adding to the grandeur and special atmosphere of the event.

Exclusive Broadcast and Event Details
UFC Freedom 250 will feature six to seven highly anticipated fights.
To ensure broad coverage, the main event will be available exclusively on Paramount+, with several early fights also broadcast on CBS.
One interesting aspect of this UFC event is the absence of a pay-per-view (PPV) system.
This means Paramount+ subscribers can enjoy the entire fight card at no additional cost, a move that is likely to increase the platform's subscriber base.
The total cost of the UFC event at the White House is estimated to be around $60 million.
