Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Consumers in India can now enjoy attractive deals on the iPhone 16 series.

In March 2026, Apple's premium devices saw significant price cuts across various retail platforms.

Discounts reached as high as ₹18,000, making the iPhone 16 a more affordable option for tech enthusiasts.

These price drops apply to various models, including the base iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16 Pro.

Most of the discounts are direct discounts off the original retail price, without the need for special bank card schemes or complicated trade-in offers.

The iPhone 16 series itself was first launched globally on September 20, 2024.

These models are the eighteenth generation of the iPhone line, replacing their predecessors, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

iPhone 16 Launch Price and Significant Price Drop

The iPhone 16 series, consisting of the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, was officially launched on September 20, 2024.

These models are the direct successors to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, bringing a number of feature and performance improvements.

When first launched in India, the 128GB iPhone 16 variant was priced at ₹79,900.

Meanwhile, the 128GB iPhone 16 Plus variant had a launch price of ₹89,900.

The more premium model, the 128GB iPhone 16 Pro, had a starting price of ₹1,19,900.

Entering March 2026, the Indian market was surprised by massive discounts on the iPhone 16 series.

These price drops reached up to ₹18,000, making the devices significantly cheaper than their launch prices.

Discount Details for Each iPhone 16 Model

For the base model, the 128GB iPhone 16 variant, which was originally priced at ₹79,900, is now around ₹69,900 on Flipkart, representing a price drop of ₹10,000.

On other platforms like Vijay Sales, the iPhone 16 is being offered for ₹64,900, and with bank offers, the effective price can drop to ₹61,400.

In fact, some retailers like Reliance Digital and Vijay Sales are offering an effective price of around ₹60,000 with additional bank offers.

An even more drastic price drop is seen on the iPhone 16 Plus.

The 128GB variant, which originally launched at ₹89,900, can now be found for around ₹71,890 at Vijay Sales.

This represents a price cut of around ₹18,000, making it one of the models with the biggest discounts without any additional conditions.

The premium model, the 128GB variant of the iPhone 16 Pro, has also seen a price adjustment.

Currently, the device is selling for around ₹1,03,990 at Croma and BigBasket.

This represents an immediate discount of around ₹15,910 from the initial launch price of ₹1,19,900, without the need for an exchange offer or bank card.

Factors Driving the iPhone 16 Price Drop

The price drop for the iPhone 16 series in India in March 2026 was driven by several key factors. One of these was the retail discount strategy employed by retailers.

These discounts aimed to clear out existing stock and attract buyers, especially as the market cycle for newer iPhone models approached.

The arrival of newer iPhone models, the iPhone 17 series, was also a major driver.

With the iPhone 17 series already available, retailers are scrambling to clear inventory of older models.

This is a common phenomenon in the technology industry, where previous models are priced lower to make room for the next-generation product.

Furthermore, intense market competition also contributed to the iPhone 16 price adjustment.

The presence of other devices, such as the Google Pixel 10a, which compete aggressively in certain price segments, has pushed Apple and retailers to offer more competitive prices.
