Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Jasveen Sangha, a dual British-American citizen widely known as the "Ketamine Queen" among her clients, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison on April 8, 2026.

This sentence was directly related to her role in the death of actor Matthew Perry, star of the series "Friends," who died on October 28, 2023, from the acute effects of ketamine.

Sangha was found guilty of supplying the ketamine that caused the fatal overdose.

This sentence came after Jasveen Sangha pleaded guilty to five federal charges, including distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious injury.

The federal court imposed the sentence after prosecutors highlighted "the broad scope of the defendant's illegality [and] her callous response to the deaths she helped cause."

Jasveen Sangha's Involvement in Matthew Perry's Death

Matthew Perry, an actor best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the series "Friends," died on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54.

The cause of death was confirmed as acute ketamine overdose, with other contributing factors including drowning, coronary artery disease, and buprenorphine.

The medical examiner ruled Perry's death an accident, although he was known to have undergone ketamine infusion therapy for depression and anxiety and to have been addicted to the drug.

An extensive investigation was opened in May 2024 by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), in collaboration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS).

In August 2024, Jasveen Sangha, along with four other individuals, was indicted in connection with Perry's death.

Sangha was accused of supplying approximately 50 vials of ketamine to Perry for $11,000.

In his plea agreement, Sangha directly admitted to supplying the ketamine that caused Perry's death and also admitted to instructing an accomplice to delete all incriminating text messages after the actor's death.

This guilty plea formed the basis for her sentencing. On April 8, 2026, Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett sentenced Jasveen Sangha to 15 years in federal prison, plus three years of supervised release.

Judge Garnett stated that Sangha was "perhaps one of the most culpable" of the defendants charged in the case.
