Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Racing game fans around the world are gearing up for Forza Horizon 6, the latest title in the popular series developed by Playground Games and published by Xbox Game Studios.

The game is scheduled to launch on May 19, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S consoles and PC via the Microsoft Store and Steam.

As the sixth installment in the Forza Horizon franchise, it promises an immersive and innovative driving experience.

The main highlight of Forza Horizon 6 is its new map, set in a fictionalized depiction of Japan, dubbed "Horizon Japan," which the map reveal happened on April 8, 2026.

Explore the Magnificent and Diverse "Horizon Japan" Map

The Forza Horizon 6 map, known as "Horizon Japan," promises a visually stunning experience with incredibly diverse biomes and dynamic seasonal changes.

The Tokyo City area in the game is claimed to be five times larger than other Horizon cities, making it the most complex and intricate driving space ever.

The densely populated Shinjuku district, the dangerous touge track on Mount Fuji, and the high-speed coastal stretch of Sagami Bay are just some of the key locations to explore.

The map also includes famous real-world routes, such as the C1 Loop and Gingko Avenue, as well as mountain passes like Mt. Haruna and Bandai Azuma.

To replicate the real-world Japanese asphalt and architecture with surgical precision, the developers used advanced photogrammetry technology.

Despite initial concerns about the lack of long straightaways, the developers have confirmed the presence of "massive highways stretching across the entire map" for a high-speed driving experience.

Innovative Gameplay and an Immersive Driving

Forza Horizon 6 introduces an engaging player progression system, where players start as tourists in Japan and must prove their skills to join the Horizon Festival as rookie racers.

The "wristband" system from previous installments returns, allowing players to earn wristbands by completing various races and events.

A notable new feature is the "Collector's Journal," which allows players to collect photos of iconic landmarks and hotspots to create a personal travelogue in Japan.

The game will also feature a dynamic weather system that reflects seasonal changes, similar to Forza Horizon 4 and 5, adding depth to the driving experience.

Over 550 real-world cars will be available for players to collect and customize, including the 2025 GR GT Prototype and 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser cover cars.
