This fifth season is set to bring a fresh take on the story with a different focus, highlighting the love journey of Francesca Bridgerton and Michaela Stirling.

This marks the first central queer romance in the series, adapted from Julia Quinn's novels, promising an exploration of "queer joy" rather than "queer trauma," as expressed by showrunner Jess Brownell.
Following the release of Bridgerton Season 4, which focused on the story of Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek, attention now shifts to Francesca, who will be facing a new chapter in her life.
Bridgerton Season 5 Cast and New Characters
Netflix has announced the cast details for Bridgerton Season 5 in April 8, 2026.
Hannah Dodd will reprise her role as Francesca Bridgerton, while Masali Baduza will reprise her role as Michaela Stirling, two central characters who will lead the season.
Confirmed returning supporting cast members include Ruth Gemmell as Violet Bridgerton, Luke Thompson as Benedict Bridgerton, Yerin Ha as Sophie Baek, Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton, Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington, and Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury.
Furthermore, the season will introduce three exciting new characters:
