Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Avengers: Doomsday new trailer was presented at CinemaCon 2026 on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

The world's largest movie industry event witnessed the silent debut of the highly anticipated film, which featured a major surprise for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Walt Disney Studios closed out CinemaCon 2026 with a grand presentation that ran from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM PT.

The event featured "Avengers: Doomsday," with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, along with directors Joe and Anthony Russo, and legendary actor Robert Downey Jr.

Doctor Doom's Debut and Epic Crossover

The trailer for "Avengers: Doomsday" opens with a poignant scene: a damaged sign for "Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters," immediately followed by a chilling narration allegedly spoken by Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, as reported by Variety.

"Something is coming, something we may not be able to prevent. Before this day is out, we will be faced with an unthinkable decision," the deep voice echoes.

The most striking moment is the appearance of Doctor Doom, especially when he effortlessly blocks Thor's Stormbreaker with just one hand.

The trailer also shows character crossover, bringing the Fantastic Four together with the Avengers and the Thunderbolts.

Epic battle scenes, including Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) facing Gambit (Channing Tatum) in the X-Mansion, and Mystique (Rebecca Romijn) transforming into Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), promise thrilling encounters.

The Return of Legendary Heroes

One of the most surprising and widely welcomed moments in the “Avengers: Doomsday” trailer is the return of Steve Rogers (Chris Evans).

In a thrilling scene, Rogers, who is seen with long hair and beard, is seen summoning Mjolnir from Thor’s hand, a direct homage to his iconic moment in “Avengers: Endgame.”

Chris Evans even made a surprise appearance onstage at CinemaCon.

The trailer also features powerful dialogue from Thor (Chris Hemsworth) calling for unity.

“I have fought many warriors in my time. They were far stronger than any of us, and they died. They died facing enemies and threats far less terrifying than this one. Everything they sacrificed will be in vain if we don’t unite… If you return, you will return as brothers and sisters,” Thor says.

“Avengers: Doomsday” Release Schedule

“Avengers: Doomsday” is scheduled for release in the United States on December 18, 2026.

The film is directed by the Russo brothers, who previously worked on several Avengers films, and the screenplay is written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely.

Robert Downey Jr. returns to the MCU, this time as the new villain, Doctor Doom, after Jonathan Majors was removed from his role as Kang the Conqueror.

Filming for the film began in April 2025 at Pinewood Studios in the UK and completed in September 2025.

Although the trailer premiered at CinemaCon, Marvel likely won't release it online anytime soon.

Previously, four teasers for "Avengers: Doomsday," released around Christmas 2025, collectively garnered 1.02 billion online views in three days.
