Invincible Season 5 Production Progress
The renewal for Invincible season 5 came well before the fourth season's release.
Currently, the production team is focused on post-production, including completing reshoots and the complex animation process.
Robert Kirkman, one of the series' creators, revealed that they are "quite far along" in production on Season 5, providing assurance that the process is proceeding according to plan.
Voice recording for Invincible season 5 was even completed years ago.
"We're getting final animation back and doing retakes," co-creator Kirkman told Collider in March 2026.
"Putting the final touches on things."
Predicted Premiere Date and Platform Exclusivity
While no specific date has been set, Invincible season 5 is expected to arrive between February and April 2027.
This prediction is based on the annual release pattern the series has established since its second season.
This consistency aims to maintain momentum and audience engagement.
Robert Kirkman himself has expressed his desire to return within this "general timeframe."
He emphasized the importance of keeping the gap between seasons to a minimum.
All episodes of Invincible season 5 will be available exclusively on Prime Video.
Invincible Season 5 Storyline: The Aftermath of the Viltrumite War and New Threats
Invincible season 5 will delve deeper into the aftermath of the Viltrumite War, which reached its peak in the previous season.
The threat of Thragg still looms, with the remaining Viltrumites hiding among humanity, rebuilding their power in secret.
This conflict will be at the heart of Mark's journey.
Mark Grayson himself will grapple with the trauma and emotional impact of the events of the previous season.
Additionally, Mark and Eve's relationship will face challenges, especially after Eve's confession about the abortion she had while Mark was away.
Allen the Alien will be faced with a difficult decision regarding the use of the Scourge virus perfected by Thaddeus.
This virus has the potential to wipe out all Viltrumites and humans, placing Allen in a major moral dilemma.
Meanwhile, Dinosaur, played by Matthew Rhys, is expected to be the main antagonist and have a much larger role in season five.
This season will likely adapt the famous comic book storyline "The Death of Everyone," involving a cataclysmic final battle between Invincible and Dinosaur.
Argall's origins and his hidden connection to Nolan are also likely to be explored in depth.
