On Thursday, May 14, 2026, the FBI officially announced a reward of $200,000 for anyone who can provide crucial information.

This reward is specifically aimed at the arrest and prosecution of Monica Witt, a former US Air Force intelligence specialist who is currently a top fugitive.
Witt is accused of espionage after allegedly defecting to Iran and sharing top-secret national defense secrets with the regime.
As reported by the New York Post, the FBI said Witt's defection to Iran had benefited the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which has elements responsible for intelligence gathering, unconventional warfare, and providing direct support to various terrorist organizations targeting US citizens and interests.
She is known to be fluent in Farsi and lives in Iran, and may have used another names, including Fatemah Zahra or Narges Witt.

The offering of this reward is a clear demonstration of the FBI's commitment to not forgetting the Monica Witt case.
Daniel Wierzbicki, special agent in charge of the Counterintelligence and Cyber Division of the FBI's Washington Field Office, emphasized that authorities have not forgotten Witt's alleged treason.
He stated that Witt allegedly violated her oath to the Constitution more than a decade ago, and this crime will not be ignored.
“Monica Witt allegedly betrayed her oath to the Constitution more than a decade ago by defecting to Iran and providing the Iranian regime National Defense Information and likely continues to support their nefarious activities,” said Daniel Wierzbicki, special agent in charge of the FBI Washington Field Office’s Counterintelligence and Cyber Division.
Information can be submitted anonymously through the online portal at tips.fbi.gov, ensuring the safety of those reporting it.

She is a former US Air Force intelligence specialist and served as a counterintelligence officer for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations from 1997 to 2008.
