Liputan6.com, Jakarta Almost 20 years after Ben Stiller played Larry Daley in the 2006 film Night at the Museum, there is good news for fans.
A reboot of Night at the Museum is being developed by 21 Laps Entertainment, a production house led by director Shawn Levy.
Unlike the previous films, this reboot will feature new stories and characters, without involving Stiller's Larry Daley in the Night at the Museum trilogy released between 2006 and 2014.

Shawn Levy, who also directed the previous three films, will return as a producer alongside Dan Levine and Emily Morris.
New script
The new movie script is written by Tripper Clancy, the screenwriter of several popular comedies, including Stuber (2019) and the Die Hart series starring Kevin Hart.
However, until now, there has been no official information regarding the new cast, director, or release schedule for this reboot film.
The Night at the Museum movie was first adapted from a children's book entitled "The Night at the Museum" by Milan Trenc, which was published in 1993.
The story revolves around Larry Daley, a man who accepts a job as a night security guard at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
Larry discovers that an ancient Egyptian artifact is causing all the museum's displays to come alive at night.
The movie trilogy follows Larry's adventures as he faces various challenges when the magical artifact is moved to museums such as the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., and the British Museum in London.
The previous films starred several famous actors besides Ben Stiller, such as Robin Williams, Rami Malek, Owen Wilson, Steve Coogan, as well as the legendary Dick Van Dyke and Mickey Rooney.
For now, however, fans will have to wait for official announcements regarding the reboot project, including information about the actors who will play the new characters and the planned schedule.
