Snoop Dogg's Latest Statement on LGBTQ+ in the Film Lightyear

On the "It's Giving" podcast, Snoop Dogg recounted how he was surprised by his grandson's question while watching the film Lightyear.

He revealed that his grandson asked,"Papa Snoop? How she have a baby with a woman? She a woman!"

Rather than answer his grandson’s inquiry about the family, Snoop said he told him, “Hey man, watch the movie.”

But the little one still had questions, asking the rapper, “Uh uh. They just said, she and she had a baby. They’re both women. How did she have a baby?”

Snoop Dogg admitted he didn't have an answer to that question and felt uncomfortable with the scene he saw.

“Oh s---," the musician recalled thinking in the theater.

"I didn’t come here for this s---. I just came to watch the goddamn movie."

He even stated, "I'm afraid to go to the movies now, because they put it (LGBTQ+ representation) everywhere."

The film Lightyear itself features the character Alisha Hawthorne, Buzz Lightyear's sidekick, who is depicted as married to her partner Kiko and has a child.

The same-sex kiss between Alisha and Kiko was initially removed, but restored after protests from Pixar staff.
