Solskjaer's dismissal from Besiktas came after the club was eliminated from the Europa Conference League play-off round.
An aggregate defeat to Lausanne-Sport was the main trigger behind the club's board's decision to terminate the Norwegian coach's contract.
Solskjaer had only been in charge of the Black Eagles for eight months.
The 52-year-old tactician had previously joined Besiktas in January 2025 on a one-and-a-half-year contract.

Solskjaer's Short Journey at Besiktas
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lasted only eight months at Besiktas after his arrival in January 2025.
He was appointed with the hope of bringing the club back to competing at the highest level, both domestically and in Europe.
However, the reality on the ground proved otherwise, especially in continental competitions.
The main trigger for his dismissal was Besiktas' failure to qualify for the Europa Conference League.
After being eliminated from Europa League qualifying by Shakhtar Donetsk, Besiktas then lost to Swiss side Lausanne-Sport in the Conference League.
A 1-0 home loss in the second leg sent them out 2-1 on aggregate.
Despite leading Besiktas to a fourth-place finish in the Super Lig the previous season and a winning start to the 2025-26 season in the league, poor results in Europe were the deciding factor.
The club's board officially announced the termination of Solskjaer's contract.
Club chairman Serdal Adalı expressed his gratitude for Solskjaer's service.
They said: "Our contract with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been terminated following a decision made at a board meeting.
"Following the meeting, our chairman, Serdal Adalı, thanked Solskjaer for his services to date."
Nuri Sahin, the former Borussia Dortmund player and manager, has been linked with the job.
