How the Incident Happened

Before his accident, Rudy Giuliani had stopped his journey to help a woman who was a victim of domestic violence, as reported by New York Post.

“Mayor Giuliani was flagged down by a woman who was a victim of domestic violence prior to the accident. He rendered assistance and contacted 911, remaining on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety,” said Ragusa, Giuliani’s head of security.

After rendering aid, as Rudy Giuliani continued on the highway, his rented Ford Bronco was struck from behind at high speed.

“The accident occurred after he re-entered his vehicle, which was then hit from behind at high speed.”

The car was being driven by his partner, Ted Goodman, when a Honda HR-V driven by 19-year-old Lauren Kemp collided with them.

A New Hampshire State Police officer who witnessed the accident reported that the collision caused both vehicles to crash into the highway median.
