Taylor Fritz Journey in the US Open 2025

Taylor Fritz put on a very convincing performance throughout the 2025 US Open.

In the fourth round match on September 1, 2025, Fritz defeated the 21st seed from the Czech Republic, Tomas Machac, with a convincing score of 6-4, 6-3, 6-3.

Fritz achieved the victory in a relatively short time, just 1 hour and 38 minutes, without facing a single break point.

He also recorded a very high first-serve point winning percentage, reaching 91%.

This achievement marked the third consecutive time Fritz had reached the US Open quarterfinals.

"It's been a tough week for the guys; I guess I wasn't expecting everything that happened. I felt really, really good about our chances this week," Fritz said of the American men exiting before the round of 16.

"But I'm happy to be here; I'm happy to be the last one standing at least."

He was previously the runner-up at the 2024 US Open, where he lost to Jannik Sinner in the final.

"Hopefully, since I'm the last [American man], the crowd will really get behind me and will me through it," Fritz said.

This will be the sixth consecutive Grand Slam featuring at least one American man in the quarterfinals, the longest streak since a run of six straight from the 2002 US Open to the 2004 Australian Open.
