A Brilliant Journey to the 2025 US Open
Amanda Anisimova's journey at the 2025 US Open has been a major highlight after securing a place in the quarterfinals.
This is her best finish at the tournament, surpassing her previous record of reaching the third round in 2020.
In her fourth-round match, Anisimova delivered a dominant performance, crushing Beatriz Haddad Maia 6-0, 6-3.
Haddad Maia scored just 10 points in the opening set, where she was broken twice and Anisimova hit 77% of her first serves. Combine all of that and the result was a New York Bagel.
The second set was even more competitive, as Anisimova was challenged to build on her career-best US Open performance.
In this fantastic match, she won 15 of the first 17 points and closed out the first set unanswered.
Statistics show she won 81% of her service points and 68% of her return points.
“It’s the Round of 16, and there are going to be nerves, especially against Bia who is such a tough opponent,’’ said Anisimova, who converted six of her 18 break-point chances.
“You have to stay really mentally strong.”
