Video of Hellfire Missile Hitting a Spherical UFO Goes Viral, US Congress Provides Explanation

A shocking video showing a Hellfire missile being fired at a spherical UFO off the coast of Yemen has come under scrutiny at a US Congressional hearing.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta An unusual incident involving a Hellfire missile and a spherical unidentified object (UAP) recently became the subject of discussion at a United States Congressional hearing.

The video showed a US military drone firing the advanced missile at the mysterious object, but the missile reportedly "ricocheted" without causing significant damage to the UAP.

The incident occurred off the coast of Yemen on October 30, 2024, and the footage was only disclosed at a Congressional hearing on September 9, 2025.

Members of Congress and witnesses expressed astonishment, questioning the capability of technology to withstand a Hellfire missile attack.

Hellfire Missile Incident Details

The video, presented to the US Congress on September 9, 2025, captured the crucial moment when an MQ-9 Reaper drone tracked a spherical object.

Another MQ-9 drone then fired a Hellfire missile at the object.According to journalist George Knapp, the missile "bounced" off the object, which remained intact and continued moving seemingly unaffected.

The video originated with an anonymous whistleblower and was revealed by Congressman Eric Burlison (R-Mo.).

Both lawmakers and witnesses, including Jeffrey Nuccetelli and Alexandro Wiggins, testified that no known US technology could survive such a Hellfire missile attack.

Lue Elizondo, a former senior Pentagon intelligence official, also asserted that the incident of the Hellfire missile bouncing off its target was unprecedented.

"I'm not going to explain it to you, you'll see exactly what it does," said Burlison as the video clip was played.

The video showed what appeared to be an impact, but the object seemed to continue on its same trajectory.

"This is when it's zoomed out, you can still see it traveling," said Burlison who did not provide details of how he had obtained the video.

US Congressional Hearings and UAP Transparency

The US Congressional hearing on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP), or UFOs, was held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

The hearing was led by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform's Task Force on Declassification of Federal Secrets, with Task Force Chair Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.).

Entitled "Restoring Public Trust Through UAP Transparency and Whistleblower Protection," the primary objective of the hearing was to address concerns surrounding UAP disclosure.

It also focused on information held by federal agencies and transparency issues within the Department of Defense (DoD) and the intelligence community.

Lawmakers also evaluated the effectiveness of the Pentagon's All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which is tasked with investigating UAP reports.

The hearing featured several key witnesses, including US Air Force veterans Jeffrey Nuccetelli and Dylan Borland, US Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Alexandro Wiggins, and UAP journalist George Knapp.

"The public should be seeing this stuff, and why you're not allowed to, I don't know," said George Knapp, an investigative journalist, who was a witness at Tuesday's hearing alongside others identified as whistleblowers of military UFO incidents.

"That's the Hellfire missile smacking into that UFO and just (bouncing) right off," he said, commenting on the video. "And it kept going."

Personal Testimony About the Incident

In addition to the Hellfire missile video, the hearing was also marked by startling personal testimony.

Jeffrey Nuccetelli recounted the 2003 "Vandenberg Red Square" incident, in which a large, red, glowing object hovered over a missile defense site.

Alexandro Wiggins shared his "Tic Tac" experience, noting that the aircraft showed "no signs of conventional propulsion" while moving.

Meanwhile, Dylan Borland reported seeing a 100-foot, silent, triangular aircraft at Langley Air Force Base in 2012, which he claimed was ignored by the AARO.

National security concerns were a key point in the discussion, especially given the location of the Hellfire missile incident in Yemen, an area of high military tension.

Lawmakers emphasized the need to protect whistleblowers who come forward with information about UAPs, given the government's lack of transparency.

Pentagon's All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) has not found evidence of extraterrestrial technology or advanced foreign capabilities.
