Chronology of the Charlie Kirk Shooting

The shooting that killed Charlie Kirk happened on September 10, 2025, around 12:20 p.m. MDT. Kirk was speaking at an outdoor "American Comeback Tour" event on the Utah Valley University (UVU) campus in Orem, Utah. About 3,000 people were there when the event suddenly turned into a tragedy.

Kirk was shot while answering a question about the small number of mass shootings involving transgender people. The shot came from the roof of the Losee Center, about 180 meters away.
