Alien Earth Season 2: Talks About a Next Series Underway, When Will It Release?

As season 1 draws to a close, fans are eagerly awaiting confirmation of a sequel to 'Alien Earth.' In fact, Noah Hawley has reportedly already begun talks.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Ahead of its episode finale, the popular sci-fi series "Alien: Earth" becomes a hot topic among fans about its second season.

While there has been no official confirmation from FX or Hulu, positive signals are emerging from the series' creators.

Noah Hawley, the series' creator, has indicated that discussions regarding a sequel are already underway.

Speculation regarding a release date has circulated, although it is confirmed that it will not be in September 2025 as initially anticipated.

FX has not announced whether it will renew Alien: Earth for a second season.

However, the network has made it clear that the series is a higher priority than Hawley's other popular projects, such as Fargo.

"We’re pretty bullish on Alien: Earth," FX chairman John Landgraf told Variety in July 2024.

"And we’ve told him that assuming, as we hope, Alien: Earth is a returning television series, we want him to focus on at least writing two seasons of it before returning to a possible sixth season of Fargo."

Alien Earth Season 2 Release Date Status and Speculation

The first season premiered in August 2025, and the final episode was released on September 23, 2025.

"I had to bring back the feeling of discovery of the lifecycle of a creature that every time you thought it had gotten as brutal and awful as it could get, it got worse," Alien: Earth creator Noah Hawley told Business Insider in August 2025.

"And I couldn't do that with a Xenomorph anymore."

While the series' future remains unconfirmed, Hawley is already planning for it.

The Alien: Earth creator told Collider in September 2025 that he knows exactly where he wants to take the story next.

"I mean, I think that I have a destination in mind story-wise, which allows me to know what the story is I'm telling, what it means," he said.

"And I don't know how long it takes to get there, but I do have a sense of where we go in success."

Hawley continued, "And you know, the question becomes: how streamlined can we make the process so that you're not waiting for three, or four, or five years for more?”

Implications of the First Season Ending for Alien Earth Season 2

The first season finale of "Alien: Earth" left many plot points and characters hanging, strongly suggesting that a sequel is necessary.

Prodigy Island is now completely controlled by Wendy and the "Lost Boys," filled with dangerous alien creatures that escaped from a laboratory.

Several key characters, such as Boy Kavalier, scientist Sylvia, synth Kirsh, and Weyland-Yutani agent Morrow, are all now held captive by Wendy and the Lost Boys.

Yutani forces are on their way to the base, "eye midges" have taken over the body of the deceased Arthur, and dangerous plant creatures are still roaming free.

Expected Returning Cast for Season 2

If a second season is indeed planned, most of the original cast is expected to return (provided their characters made it out of the first season alive).

In addition to Chandler, they will also include Alex Lawther as the Hermit, Essie Davis as Dame Sylvia, Babou Ceesay as Morrow, and Samuel Blenkin as Boy Kavalier.

Timothy Olyphant (Kirsh), Essie Davis (Dame Sylvia), David Rysdahl (Arthur), Sandra Yi Sencindiver (Yutani), and Adrian Edmondson (Atom Eins) are also expected to complete the cast.

Timothy Olyphant, who plays Wendy's mentor, Kirsh, mentioned that he would need to refresh his memory on the unique quirks she brings to her character if they were to film future episodes.

"You can give AI any sort of personality," he told the outlet in September 2025.

"The fun of the job was seeing how far I could push what I don't associate as robotic or synthetic behavior into the performance and people would still feel like, no, that just must be the guy."
