The price adjustment will affect new subscribers starting October 1, 2025, while existing subscribers will see the change starting November 4, 2025.
The announcement also includes a long list of new games that will be added to the Xbox Game Pass catalog throughout October 2025.

Xbox Game Pass: Subscription and Price Changes
On October 1, 2025, Microsoft introduced a revised Xbox Game Pass subscription structure with renaming and pricing adjustments.
Xbox Game Pass Core is now known as Xbox Game Pass Essential, offering access to a curated library of games and online multiplayer.
Meanwhile, Xbox Game Pass Standard was renamed Xbox Game Pass Premium, expanding to include PC games and cloud gaming.
The highest tier, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, experienced a significant 50% price increase from $19.99 to $29.99 per month.
Furthermore, the price of PC Game Pass was also adjusted, increasing from $11.99 to $16.49 per month.
Despite price increases at some tiers, the prices of Xbox Game Pass Premium and Xbox Game Pass Essential remained stable at $14.99 and $9.99 per month.
This price change will be effective immediately for new subscribers, while existing subscribers will begin seeing the impact on November 4, 2025.

New Benefits and Features
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the premium tier, now offers over 75 day-one games each year, including highly anticipated major titles.
Ultimate members also gain exclusive access to Ubisoft+ Classics and Fortnite Crew for the first time, according to Xbox official website.
In addition, Ultimate subscribers will enjoy improved Xbox Cloud Gaming streaming quality up to 1440p with maximum queue priority.
The Rewards with Xbox program has also been enhanced, allowing Ultimate members to earn up to $100 per year in Store points.
They earn 4x points on game and add-on purchases, as well as up to 20% off select Game Pass games.
Xbox Game Pass Premium has expanded its coverage to PC and cloud gaming.
This plan adds over 40 new back catalog games, including Forza Horizon 5, Minecraft, Hogwarts Legacy, Frostpunk 2, and Diablo IV.
Premium members also gain access to Xbox Cloud Gaming with shorter queues and a guarantee that all Xbox Game Studios titles (except Call of Duty) will be available within one year of launch.
All plans now include an expanded game library, access to PC games, unlimited cloud gaming, in-game benefits (including Riot Games titles), and an updated Rewards with Xbox experience.

Several major titles were added on October 1, 2025, including Hogwarts Legacy, which is now available on Cloud, PC, and Console.
Additionally, the Ubisoft+ Classics collection, featuring over 40 titles, including Assassin's Creed II, Far Cry 3, and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, is also available for Ultimate subscribers.
For Premium subscribers, the list of added games is equally impressive, including titles like Diablo IV, Frostpunk 2, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and the Age of Empires: Definitive Edition series.
Essential subscribers even get premium games like Cities: Skylines Remastered, Disney Dreamlight Valley, Hades, and Warhammer 40,000 Darktide.
These include Sopa – Tale of the Stolen Potato (October 7), Keeper (October 17), Ninja Gaiden 4 (October 21), Star Bounty (October 23), Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault (October 23), and The Outer Worlds 2 (October 29).
As an added bonus, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscribers will receive early access to the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 open beta.
Despite numerous feature and game additions, the price increase, particularly for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, has made mixed reactions from the gaming community.
