Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Grand Theft Auto VI, or GTA 6, one of the most anticipated games in the world, is back in the spotlight with an interesting rumor about the release of its latest trailer.

Widely known insider Tom Henderson has indicated that the game's third trailer will likely launch in August 2026.

This ambitious game from Rockstar Games has garnered widespread attention since its first trailer was released in December 2023.

With the promise of a larger world, in-depth characters, and gameplay innovations, GTA 6 is poised to redefine the standards of the open-world genre.

Although GTA 6's official release date has been set for November 19, 2026, Rockstar Games' marketing strategy remains a mystery.

Tom Henderson, a gaming industry insider known for his accurate track record, predicts the release of a new GTA 6 trailer in August 2026, saying that this third trailer will likely be "shadow-dropped," meaning without prior official announcement, to coincide with Take-Two Interactive's earnings call, as reported by Screen Rant.

Henderson also added that Rockstar will likely manage its own advertising campaign and will not showcase GTA 6 at third-party events, indicating full control over the marketing strategy.

However, this prediction has not escaped skepticism among fans and critics.

Some argue that a three-month marketing campaign, from August to its November release, may not be enough for a game as large as GTA 6 and suggest that a trailer release in May 2026 would be more reasonable.

"Starting the ad campaign three months before release, and with one month left in summer when all of the vibes in the trailers thus far have been summer oriented. On the most expensive, and awaited single piece of media to ever be created…. No chance it’s that late in the year for the marketing," said fan named DakotaFields.

GTA 6 Release Schedule, Delays, and Marketing Strategy

Officially, GTA 6 is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, exclusively for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms.

GTA 6 was originally planned for late 2025, then pushed back to May 26, 2026, and finally to November 19, 2026.

Rockstar Games stated that this delay was necessary for "additional polish" and to "complete the game to the level of quality you expect and deserve."

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has confirmed that the marketing campaign for GTA 6 will begin in the "Summer" ahead of its November 19th debut.

Zelnick emphasized that the company "isn't spending any money on marketing until we're pretty close to release."

GTA 6 World: Setting, Protagonists, and Vast Map
