Apple Officially Releases AirPods Max 2: What New Features Does It Have?

Pre-orders for the AirPods Max 2 will begin on March 25, 2026, giving Apple fans a chance to get their hands on the device immediately.

Consumer shipments are expected to begin in early April 2026.

The most crucial update to the AirPods Max 2 lies in the use of the advanced H2 chip, replacing the previous generation's H1 chip.

This chip, previously proven reliable in the AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Pro 3, and AirPods 4, brings significantly faster and more intelligent audio processing capabilities.

The integration of the H2 chip forms the foundation for all the performance improvements offered by the AirPods Max 2.

Thanks to the processing power of the H2 chip and new computational audio algorithms, the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) feature on the AirPods Max 2 is claimed to be 1.5 times more effective than the previous generation.

In addition to ANC, Transparency Mode has also seen substantial improvements thanks to optimizations by the H2 chip and a new microphone array.

Users can now remain aware of their surroundings without removing the AirPods Max 2.

Furthermore, the AirPods Max 2 are equipped with a new high-dynamic amplifier that produces cleaner audio with minimal distortion.

Personalized Spatial Audio with Dynamic Head Tracking has also been enhanced.

The fast charging feature allows a 5-minute charge to get approximately 1.5 hours of listening time.
