Persona 6 Officially Announced With Dark Tones and Mysterious Green Colors

The latest Persona entry was officially announced at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, promising a new standalone story with a darker tone.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Atlus officially announced Persona 6 at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 event on June 7, 2026.

This reveal ends years of speculation regarding the continuation of the main series that has captivated millions of players worldwide.

Persona 6 will reach a wide audience with its availability on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.

Additionally, the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass from day one, complete with Xbox Play Anywhere support.

Dark and Minimalistic Visual

The Persona 6 announcement trailer features minimal yet enigmatic visuals.

A dark and eerie graveyard dominates the screen, illuminated by a mysterious green glow.

This green color is a major highlight, considering that each mainline Persona title has its own signature color, such as red for Persona 5, yellow for Persona 4, and blue for Persona 3.

The tone shown in the trailer hints at a darker atmosphere, reminiscent of Persona 3.

The highly anticipated next chapter of this iconic RPG series delivers a bold and new standalone story, blending heartfelt everyday life and new characters with thrilling supernatural adventures.

Developer Behind Persona 6

Persona 6 is being developed by Atlus and P-Studio.

This marks the first mainline entry in the series since 2000's Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, which was not directed by Katsura Hashino following his departure from the Persona development team in 2016.

Preparatory work for the game began before the global release of Persona 5 in 2017, with full production beginning in 2021.

Kazuhisa Wada, Director at P-Studio, expressed his excitement at the announcement and the immense effort the team has put into Persona 6.

Despite the official announcement, Atlus has not yet announced a definitive release date for Persona 6.

Get to Know Persona Franchise

The Persona franchise has sold over 30 million units worldwide, and 2026 marks the series' 30th anniversary.

Alongside the announcement of Persona 6, Atlus also revealed the release date for Persona 4 Revival, a remake of Persona 4, which will be released on February 18, 2027.

Pre-orders for Persona 4 Revival are now open for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC, while pre-orders for PlayStation 5 and Steam will be available the following day.

A Persona 4 Revival Broadcast Livestream is scheduled for June 18 at 4 p.m. PT or 7 p.m. ET, with further details from Kazuhisa Wada.

As the seventh mainline entry in the Persona series, Persona 6 promises to be a perfect entry point for newcomers while also offering a deep new mystery for longtime fans.
