Paramount Global Launches 'Paramount Games Studio,' Emphasizing Gaming as a Core Content Pillar

Paramount Global launched 'Paramount Games Studio' with a vision of casual to AAA games alongside film, television and streaming.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Paramount Global officially launched Paramount Games Studio in June 2026, marking a significant evolution in the company's content strategy.

With this move, Paramount now positions gaming as a core pillar alongside its film, television, and streaming businesses, rather than simply an extension of its existing intellectual property (IP).

The new division, named Paramount Games Studio, includes Skydance Interactive and Skydance New Media and will be led by Tony Driscoll, who serves as president and continues his role as EVP of strategy and corporate development.

Consolidation of Paramount and Skydance

The new studio was formed through the consolidation of Paramount and Skydance's existing game studios, including Skydance Interactive and Skydance New Media.

Its primary goal is to transform Paramount's world-class IP into immersive and enduring franchise experiences.

Paramount Games Studio plans to develop a wide range of games, from casual titles to AAA (triple-A) experiences, with a strategy centered on building a long-term fan community and franchise ecosystem.

Tony Driscoll serves as President of the studio and concurrently serves as EVP of Strategy and Corporate Development for Paramount, where he also led integration planning efforts for the Warner Bros. Discovery transaction.

Dan Prigg, with a background in Scopely and Unity, has been appointed EVP and Head of Games.

Meanwhile, Shawn Kittelsen, with credits on Mortal Kombat 11 and Injustice 2, has been appointed SVP of Creative and Production.

Andrea Silvers, formerly of Electronic Arts, is SVP of Marketing and Communications, Kara Bilkiss is SVP of Business Development and Licensing, and Ray Davis is SVP of Engineering.

Amy Hennig, previously co-president of Skydance New Media, now serves as Studio Creative Director.

From Casual to AAA Games

Furthermore, Tony Driscoll explained that the new division had a vision to produce games, from casuals to the AAA's.

“We are committed to creating exceptional games for every type of player, from casual to triple-A, and building enduring experiences across our beloved Paramount IP and original worlds that deepen fan engagement and drive long-term growth.”

He added: “The goal is not only to make great games, but to build franchise platforms and fan communities that feed back into everything Paramount creates. When done well, the games we develop are foundations for fan communities to grow inside these worlds."

Game Projects That Was Announced

As reported by Game File, several game projects have been announced and are currently in development under the studio.

From Skydance New Media, there is Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra and an untitled Star Wars game in development.

In addition, Paramount Games Studio is involved in the development of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, a AAA action-adventure game developed by Platinum Games and published by Paramount Games.

The game is based on the popular comic book series and follows the revenge quest of the last surviving Ninja Turtle.

Another project is Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, a 1v1 fighting game developed in collaboration with Nickelodeon Animation Studios.
