Kiss of the Spider Woman: J-Lo and Ben Affleck Reunite Post-Divorce

At the premiere of "Kiss of the Spider-Woman," Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were seen interacting normally.

They not only posed for photographers but were also seen smiling and chatting amiably, even whispering to each other on the red carpet.

Ben Affleck, who served as an executive producer through Artists Equity, was effusive in his praise for his ex-wife.

He stated that Lopez was "incredible" in the film and "born to play this role."

Not to be outdone, Jennifer Lopez also expressed her appreciation for Affleck.

“If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have (gotten) made, and I will always give him that credit,” she said Oct. 6 while appearing on TODAY.

She reiterated this sentiment in interviews on television shows like "Today" and "CBS Sunday Morning."

Jennifer Lopez's own look was a highlight, featuring a sheer, botanical-print Harris Reed gown and a unique sage green structural corset.

Lopez was also accompanied by her two children, 17-year-old twins Maximilian and Emme Muniz.

This meeting took place after Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck officially finalized their divorce in January 2025, following Lopez's filing for divorce in August 2024.

Lopez and Affleck's romance was one of the most public relationships in Hollywood history.

Lopez herself revealed that filming "Kiss of the Spider-Woman" had deep meaning for her, especially during the difficult time of her divorce.

She even called the divorce "the best thing that ever happened to her" because it helped her grow and become more self-aware.

The film, according to Lopez, explores the theme of "escape" and how art can be a savior during life's toughest times.

Lopez also said the movie was cathartic for her.

“Things happen. You have to keep going,” she said.

“But, it’s funny. The movie is about escapism. It’s about how movies and art save us in the hardest times of our lives. And doing this project was such a dream come true for me that it really got me through, to kind of survive a moment that was difficult in my personal life, as well."

This message aligns with her personal experience of finding strength and inspiration through her work on this film project.

In "Kiss of the Spider-Woman," Jennifer Lopez portrays the complex character of Ingrid Luna/Aurora/The Spider-Woman.

"Kiss of the Spider Woman," adapted from Manuel Puig's 1976 novel and staged on Broadway and filmed in 1985 starring William Hurt and Raul Julia, will premiere on October 10.
