Freida Parton, the sister of country music icon Dolly Parton, asked for prayers for her sister's health, following the postponement of her Las Vegas concert.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta News about legendary singer Dolly Parton's health has resurfaced after her sister, Freida Parton, publicly asked for prayers from fans.

As reported by The Guardian, Freida's social media post in early October 2025 sparked concern among Dolly's fans, although she later clarified that Dolly's condition was not as serious as initially thought.

This incident happened shortly after Dolly Parton herself announced the postponement of her Las Vegas concert due to health concerns and said that she needed several medical procedures.

However, Dolly Parton has emphasized that she has no plans to retire from music.

She simply feels the need to "slow down" for a while on the advice of doctors.

Dolly Parton's Concert Postponement

Prior to Freida's prayer request, Dolly Parton herself announced on September 28, 2025, that she was postponing her Las Vegas concert residency.

The "Dolly: Live in Las Vegas" concert was scheduled for December 2025 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace but has been postponed until September 2026.

In her statement, Dolly Parton explained, "As many of you know, I've been facing some health challenges, and my doctor has told me I need to undergo some procedures."

She even joked about the situation, saying, “As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile checkup, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”

Dolly also stated that she would not be able to rehearse and prepare for the show to the standard she desires and that her fans deserve.

However, she emphasized that she has no plans to retire.

"Don't worry about me quitting this business because God hasn't said anything about quitting. But, I believe He's telling me to slow down now so I can be ready for another great adventure with all of you," she said.

Dolly Parton's Health and Personal Life

2025 was indeed a challenging year for Dolly Parton, both health-wise and personally.

Earlier that year, she was unable to attend Dollywood in person due to a "minor issue" involving a kidney stone that caused an infection.

Furthermore, Dolly Parton also faced profound grief in March 2025 when her husband, Carl Dean, passed away at the age of 82.

Asked about the possibility of retirement in an interview last year, Parton told the Guardian: “Oh, my Lord, I can’t retire. I always say I’ve dreamed myself into a corner. I’ve got to keep all those dreams alive. Every dream spins off into some something else … I couldn’t retire if I wanted to. And I don’t want to.”
