Peacemaker Season 3: Will John Cena Starring Series Get Renewed?

However, DC Studios co-chairman and CEO James Gunn has provided several important clues regarding the future of Christopher Smith and the "11th Street Kids" team.

He hinted that their story isn't over, but that their appearance might not be in the format expected.

HBO Max has not yet announced whether "Peacemaker" will return for another season.

A representative for the streaming platform told USA TODAY on October 7 that they had no information to share at the time.

Neither a cancellation nor an official renewal has been announced by HBO Max, leaving fans wondering.

This situation creates significant uncertainty amidst the excitement surrounding the continuation of the anti-hero's story.

James Gunn, a key figure behind DC Studios, has repeatedly made statements indicating that Christopher Smith's story is not yet finished.

In an interview with Deadline, Gunn confirmed that "11th Street Kids" still has a future in the DCU.

However, he also hinted that the next chapter may not come in the form of a traditional Peacemaker Season 3.

Gunn explained that although a third season is not currently in the works, Peacemaker and the other characters still have important roles in the future of the DCU.

There's no strong indication that Peacemaker Season 3 will be released in October 2025 and the fact that the second season only premiered in late August 2025 reinforces this assumption.

James Gunn has hinted that characters from Peacemaker, including Christopher Smith, will likely appear in other DCU projects.

One of the most prominent projects is the Waller series, centered on Amanda Waller, played by Viola Davis.

Gunn has confirmed that the series is still in development and that the Peacemaker team will be involved.

Furthermore, Gunn also revealed that episode 8 of Peacemaker Season 2 has significant relevance to Man of Tomorrow.

This film, a sequel to Superman, demonstrates how the Peacemaker series will be more deeply integrated into the larger DCU narrative.

"Peacemaker," based on characters from director and screenwriter James Gunn's 2021 film "The Suicide Squad," follows the "explosive adventures" of Peacemaker, "a man with a fierce pride who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to achieve it," according to HBO.

"Peacemaker" is also the first DC original series to premiere on HBO Max, according to HBO Max's head of original content, Sarah Aubrey.
