Jacob Kiplimo and Hawi Feysa Dominate the 2025 Chicago Marathon: Here Are the Full Results!

Liputan6.com, Jakarta Ugandan runner Jacob Kiplimo made his mark in marathon history by winning the 2025 Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

As reported by 2822 News, Kiplimo finished the race with an impressive time of 2 hours, 2 minutes, and 23 seconds, setting a new national record for Uganda.

In the women's category, Ethiopia's Hawi Feysa also put in a brilliant performance, by winning the title with a time of 2 hours, 14 minutes, and 56 seconds, which marked Feysa's marathon debut on America.

The 47th edition of the Chicago Marathon was held under ideal weather conditions, with a starting temperature of approximately 12.7 degrees Celsius.

This prestigious event attracted approximately 50,000 participants from 100 countries.

Jacob Kiplimo dominated the race throughout, even running below world record pace for about the first 22 miles.

His time of 2:02:23 places him seventh on the list of fastest marathoners of all time, a remarkable achievement for his second marathon.

Kiplimo previously made his marathon debut at the London Marathon in April 2025, where he finished second with a time of 2:03:37.

He is also known as the half-marathon world record holder and an Olympic and World Championship bronze medalist in the 10,000 meters.

Kiplimo took a 91-second lead over second-place Amos Kipruto.

Marcel Hug of Switzerland won the men's wheelchair category with a time of 1:23:20.

Meanwhile, Susannah Scaroni of the United States won the women's wheelchair category with a time of 1:38:14.

The 47th edition of the Chicago Marathon was a success, with widespread global participation.
