Why Was the New Sick World 2025 Cancelled?
Metallica and Linkin Park were originally announced as headliners for Sick New World in 2025, but as time went on, things started to fall apart.
"Despite our best efforts, we've encountered unforeseen circumstances that we were unable to overcome for next year's show," organizers stated at the time.
Sick New World began as a destination-based heavy metal music festival, announced in November 2022.
Its inaugural year, 2023, featured System of a Down at the head of a lineup that also included Korn, Deftones, and Incubus, and was dominated by nu-metal acts.
System returned as a headliner in 2024, with Slipknot, Bring Me the Horizon, and others.
As mentioned, Metallica, Linkin Park, Queens of the Stone Age, Evanescence, Ministry, 311, and others were scheduled to perform in 2025 before Sick New World was canceled.
