The fight between Steve Garcia, ranked 12th, and David Onama, ranked 13th, was expected to be a thrilling affair.
Both fighters entered the octagon with impressive winning streaks, promising a thrilling spectacle for MMA fans.
Garcia came in with six consecutive wins, five of which came via stoppage, including a decision victory over Calvin Kattar the previous May.
Meanwhile, Onama was equally impressive with four consecutive wins, including a victory over Giga Chikadze in April.

Waldo Cortes-Acosta defeated Ante Delija via TKO in the first round at 3:59 minutes, following an accidental eye poke.
Jeremiah Wells won a unanimous decision over Themba Gorimbo with scores of 29-28, 29-28, 29-28.
Meanwhile, Yadier del Valle maintained his undefeated record by defeating Isaac Dulgarian via rear-naked choke at 3:41 minutes of the first round, recording the 10th victory of his professional career.
Charles Radtke also secured a rear-naked choke submission victory over Daniel Frunza at 4:29 minutes of the third round.
In the 130-pound catchweight bout, Allan Nascimento, who accepted the fight on short notice, defeated Cody Durden via submission (anaconda choke) at the 3:13 mark of the second round.

The prelims for UFC Fight Night 263 were equally exciting and produced some surprising results.
Billy Elekana defeated Kevin Christian via technical submission (rear-naked choke) at the 3:33 mark of the first round, showcasing his prowess on the ground.
Timmy Cuamba secured a unanimous decision victory over ChangHo Lee with scores of 29-28, 29-28, 29-28.
Donte Johnson also won via submission (guillotine choke) over Sedriques Dumas at the 1:25 mark of the second round.
In the women's division, Norma Dumont defeated Ketlen Vieira via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) in a very close fight.
Alice Ardelean and SeokHyeon Ko also managed to score unanimous decision wins over their opponents, Montserrat Conejo Ruiz and Phil Rowe, showing their dominance throughout the three rounds.
