Netflix's Operation Safed Sagar: First Teaser Reveals World's Highest Air Mission in the Kargil War

The series will immerse viewers in the thrilling true story of the Indian Air Force (IAF)'s mission during the 1999 Kargil War.

Announced at the Sekhon Indian Air Force Marathon 2025 (SIM-25) in New Delhi.

Starring renowned actors like Jimmy Shergill and Siddharth, "Netflix's Operation Safed Sagar" will explore one of the world's highest-profile air operations in history.

The series is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Netflix in 2026.

With director Oni Sen, known for his work on "Asur," expectations for the series' production quality and storytelling are high.

"Operation Safed Sagar" is inspired by a real-life mission carried out by the Indian Air Force during the 1999 Kargil War.

The real-life Operation Safed Sagar began on May 26, 1999, after the Indian government granted permission for the limited use of air power.

The goal was to repel Pakistani intruders who had crossed the Line of Control (LoC).

This 47-day military campaign required precise coordination between the Army and Air Force.

Netflix's "Operation Safed Sagar" will showcase how IAF pilots faced the challenges of extreme environments and enemy threats.

"Netflix's Operation Safed Sagar" is bolstered by a cast of top Indian actors who will bring heroic characters to life.

Jimmy Shergill and Siddharth have been cast in the lead roles.

In addition to these two big names, the series also features young talents such as Abhay Verma, Mihir Ahuja, Taaruk Raina, and Arnav Bhasin.

Dia Mirza is also said to be taking on a significant role.

Behind the scenes, the series is directed by Oni Sen, who previously worked on the thriller series "Asur."

The series was created by Abhijeet Singh Parmar and Kushal Srivastava, with a script written by Sandeep Jain, Barun Kashyap, and Nikhil Ravi.

The series is being produced by Matchbox Shots and Feel Good Films, with full support from the Indian Air Force.

Extensive filming took place at operational Indian Air Force bases.

The series not only uses constructed sets but also features authentic MiG aircraft used by the IAF.
