Fallout TV Show Season 2: Release Schedule, New Vegas Plot, and Full Cast List

Fallout TV Show Season 2 will premiere on December 16, 2025, at 6 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PT) or 9 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on Amazon Prime Video, consist of eight episodes, with one episode released weekly on Wednesdays.

The Season 2 finale is scheduled to air on February 4, 2026, and Amazon has already announced plans for a third season.

The Fallout TV show was officially approved for a second season on April 18, 2024, just about a week after the first season's release.

Production on the second season wrapped on May 8, 2025, as confirmed by Walton Goggins and Ella Purnell via Instagram posts.

Filming began in November 2024 in Los Angeles but temporarily delayed in January 2025 due to the California wildfires.

Kyle MacLachlan, who plays Hank MacLean, stated that his scenes wrapped filming in late April 2025.

Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet returned as showrunners for the second season, promising a consistent story continuation.

The second season of the Fallout TV show will continue the story directly from the first season and significantly introduce New Vegas.

This location is a key city from the beloved video game Fallout: New Vegas and it will take viewers through the Mojave Desert to this post-apocalyptic city full of intrigue.

Lucy (Ella Purnell) and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) will head to New Vegas in pursuit of Hank MacLean (Kyle MacLachlan), Lucy's father.

Lucy seeks justice for her father's role in the destruction of Shady Sands and the truth about Vault-Tec.

Meanwhile, The Ghoul will search for his wife, Barb Howard (Frances Turner), and daughter, Janey Howard (Teagan Meredith), who were last seen in pre-war flashbacks.

Maximus (Aaron Moten) will return to the Brotherhood of Steel, where internal conflict is expected to erupt.

Leaked set photos from February 2025 showed part of the Valley Plaza mall in North Hollywood being transformed into the New Vegas Strip.

Signs of iconic locations like the Ultra-Luxe, Vault 21, and the Lucky 38 casino are visible, indicating rich details from the game will be carried over.

Another leak from March 2025 featured an interior set of Camp McCarran and references to Mr. House, as well as members of Caesar's Legion and NCR soldiers.

Showrunner Graham Wagner expressed his excitement to "finally tackle one of the most iconic elements of the game" in Season 2.

Executive producer Jonathan Nolan also promised more monsters, environments, and factions for the Fallout TV show.

Returning key characters from the Fallout TV show include Ella Purnell as Lucy MacLean, the courageous resident of Vault 33.

Walton Goggins will return as The Ghoul, a mysterious bounty hunter known as Cooper Howard.

Aaron Moten will play Maximus, a Brotherhood of Steel knight, and Kyle MacLachlan will play Hank MacLean, Lucy's father and former Overseer of Vault 33.

Additionally, Moisés Arias will return as Norm MacLean, Lucy's younger brother, and Xelia Mendes-Jones will play Dane, a Brotherhood of Steel scribe.

Frances Turner will return as Barb Howard, Cooper Howard's wife in 2077, Leslie Uggams will play Betty Pearson, the new Overseer of Vault 32, and Johnny Pemberton will play Thaddeus, a Brotherhood squire who begins to transform into a ghoul.

The second season of the Fallout TV show will also welcome some exciting new cast members. Justin Theroux will join the cast as Mr. House, the pre-war CEO of RobCo and a key figure in New Vegas.

Macaulay Culkin will appear in an undisclosed role, described as a "mad genius" and possibly a member of Caesar's Legion.

Kumail Nanjiani will also appear in an undisclosed role.

Other new supporting cast members include Rachel Marsh as Claudia, Jasper Cole as Gregory, Les Brandt as Sherman, Chriselle Almeida as Vault-Tec Project Manager #2, Andrea Cañizares-Fernandez as Wounded Woman, Eric Barragan as Vault Clerk #2, Henry Noble as HUAC Agent, and John W. Lawson as Town Local.
