The couple shared the happy news on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, via an Instagram post, stating that Usha and their unborn child are healthy.
The baby boy is expected to be born in late July 2026, adding to the joy of the Vance family, which already has three children: Ewan (8), Vivek (5), and Mirabel (4).

Usha Bala Chilukuri Vance, born on January 6, 1986, in San Diego County, California, United States, comes from an Indian immigrant family.
Her parents, Lakshmi and Radhakrishna "Krish" Chilukuri, immigrated to the US in the 1980s from the Telugu community in Andhra Pradesh, India.
Her father is a mechanical engineer, a graduate of IIT Madras and a lecturer at San Diego State University, while her mother is a molecular biologist and provost at the University of California, San Diego.
Usha grew up in Rancho Peñasquitos, an upper-middle-class suburb of San Diego, with her sister, Shreya, and is a practicing Hindu.

A Distinguished Legal Career
After completing her education, Usha Vance began her legal career as a law clerk for several prominent judges.
She served under Judge Amul Thapar on the District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky (2013–2014), then under Judge Brett Kavanaugh on the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit (2014–2015), and finally under Chief Justice John Roberts (2017–2018).
For nearly six years, she practiced in the San Francisco and Washington, D.C. offices, focusing on complex civil litigation and appeals across a variety of sectors, including higher education, local government, entertainment, and technology.
Her clients include major names such as Paramount Pictures, the Regents of the University of California, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, and divisions of The Walt Disney Company.
Usha Vance resigned from the firm in July 2024 to focus on her family after her husband was announced as a vice presidential candidate.

Usha Vance married J.D. Vance on June 14, 2014, in an interfaith ceremony in Kentucky.
