Fallout Season 3: What to Expect
Enthusiasm for the Fallout series is so high that Amazon renewed the series for a third season in May 2025, even before the second season premiered.

Fallout's Post-Apocalyptic World Setting
The world of Fallout is set in an alternate timeline that deviates from our own history, circa the 1950s.
Advances in nuclear technology following World War II created a retro-futuristic society with a 1950s aesthetic that persisted into the 21st century.
However, this era of progress ended tragically on Saturday, October 23, 2077, when nuclear bombs were dropped during what became known as "The Great War" between the United States and China, destroying civilization.
Many survivors took refuge in underground bunkers called Vaults, unaware that most of them were designed for sociological and psychological experiments by Vault-Tec and other American corporations.
The series is set over 200 years after the apocalypse, in 2296, making it the furthest forward in time in the Fallout franchise.
The first season follows Lucy, a resident of Vault 33 who bravely leaves her home to search for her kidnapped father in the dangerous Los Angeles desert.
Along the way, she encounters Maximus of the Brotherhood of Steel and Cooper Howard, a ghoul bounty hunter, each with a hidden agenda.
