Liputan6.com, Jakarta - United States President Donald Trump officially launched his new online platform, TrumpRx.gov, on Thursday, February 6, 2026, designed as a government portal primarily aimed at helping Americans obtain medications at significantly discounted prices.
The goal is clear: to lower prescription drug prices, which have been a significant burden for many American families.
Through this platform, it is hoped that millions of people will be able to access essential medications at a much more affordable cost.

The TrumpRx.gov website marks a significant step in the administration's efforts to address high healthcare costs, particularly drug prices.
Trump aims to providing financial relief to patients in need.
“People are going to save a lot of money and be healthy,” Trump said, stating that some of the world’s largest drug producers have agreed to bring down prices under “Most Favoured Nation” agreements in exchange for avoiding US tariffs.

TrumpRx: Connecting Patients with Direct Discounts
TrumpRx operates as a government-run portal, directing patients directly to drug manufacturers' direct-to-consumer (DTC) websites.
Through this channel, Americans can purchase medications for cash, bypassing insurance, at government-set discounts.
The site does not directly sell medications, but rather acts as a bridge connecting users with various discount offers from pharmaceutical companies.
Users can print discount coupons that can then be used to purchase medications without insurance.
The platform is an integral part of the broader "Most Favored Nation" (MFN) initiative, first announced by Donald Trump in September 2025.
The primary goal of the MFN initiative is to pressure pharmaceutical companies not to charge US patients higher prices than they charge in other wealthy countries.

Drug Discounts and Participating Companies
At launch, TrumpRx listed discounted cash prices for 43 brand-name medications.
This list included popular weight-loss medications like Zepbound and Wegovy, as well as treatments for diabetes, migraines, hepatitis C, and arthritis.
The discounts offered were significant, with Wegovy available for $199 for the first two months and $349 thereafter, well below its list price of $1,349.02.
Other examples of discounts included Gonal-F, listed on TrumpRx for $252, an 83% discount off the sticker price, and Zavzpret (a migraine medication) dropping from $1,189 to $549 through the platform.
The blood thinner Plavix was also available for as low as $16 per month.
Other medications like Epclusa (hepatitis C) cost $2,425, while Ozempic and Wegovy will drop from $1,000 and $1,350 per month to $350 when purchased through TrumpRx.
Zepbound and Orforglipron also saw their prices drop from $1,086 per month to an average of $346.
These leading companies include Pfizer, Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly, AstraZeneca, EMD Serono, Amgen, Bristol Myers Squibb, Boehringer Ingelheim, Genentech, Gilead Sciences, GSK, Merck, and Sanofi.
TrumpRx Program Eligibility and Restrictions
To take advantage of discounts through TrumpRx, users must meet several criteria.
First, they must be residents of the United States.
Second, users must confirm that they are not enrolled in any government-funded, state-funded, or federally funded medical or prescription program.
Additionally, they may not seek reimbursement from any insurance plan for out-of-pocket costs, and the cost of medications purchased through TrumpRx will not be included in any insurance deductible.
Experts have expressed doubts about the reach of TrumpRx for most insured Americans, as the program primarily benefits out-of-pocket or uninsured patients.
