Liputan6.com, Jakarta - BTS has officially announced full details for their highly anticipated new album, "ARIRANG," marks the group's significant return after the members went on hiatus and completed their military service.

Slated for release on March 20, 2026, "ARIRANG" will be BTS's first group album in over three years.

The official announcement of the album's release date and world tour plans was made by BIGHIT MUSIC on January 4, 2026, sparking immense enthusiasm from ARMY, their loyal fanbase.

With 14 new songs, BTS is ready to share the honest stories they have held onto with their fans.

The Meaning and Concept of the Album "ARIRANG"

The album title "ARIRANG" is taken from a traditional Korean folk song rich in meaning, historically symbolizes longing, separation, and ultimately, reunion.

This name choice is highly relevant to BTS's journey, which has just completed its hiatus and military service.

For BTS, "ARIRANG" represents a return to their roots and a deep reflection on the group's evolution after nearly four years of solo projects and military service.

The album is said to capture BTS's identity as a group that began their journey in Korea, with total of 14 tracks designed to tell honest and personal stories.

“The album encompasses the identity of BTS and the sentiments accumulated over their journey,” the agency said.

“The members held songwriting sessions in Los Angeles last summer, where they worked on the music with star producers including Diplo, Ryan Tedder and El Guincho.”

Tracklist and Lead Single "SWIM"

The album "ARIRANG" features 14 diverse new songs, promising a rich listening experience for fans.

Some of the track titles that have caught the eye include "Body to Body," "Hooligan," "Aliens," "FYA," "2.0," "Merry Go Round," "NORMAL," "Like Animals," "They Don't Know 'Bout Us," "One More Night," "Please," and "Into the Sun."

As an interlude, a song titled "No. 29" completes the tracklist.

Of all the songs, "SWIM" has been designated as the album's lead single.

"SWIM" is a cheerful alternative pop song, conveying a message about moving forward through the endless waves of life.

RM, a member of BTS, took the lead in writing the lyrics for "SWIM," which center on one's determination to keep fighting despite facing various challenges in life.
