Directed by renowned filmmaker Guy Ritchie, the series has officially premiered on Amazon Prime Video.

All eight episodes of "Young Sherlock" were released globally on March 4, 2026, marking a highly anticipated debut.

Guy Ritchie's presence as director and executive producer adds to the series' appeal, given his track record with the successful "Sherlock Holmes" films.

The story focuses on Sherlock Holmes at the age of 19, while he is still a student at Oxford University.

At this stage, Sherlock is depicted as undisciplined and far from the image of a master detective until a murder in Oxford unexpectedly prompts him to solve his first mystery.

Furthermore, "Young Sherlock" also delves into Holmes's troubled family background, including his parents and brother, Mycroft.

The main cast includes Hero Fiennes Tiffin as the young Sherlock Holmes, Dónal Finn as James Moriarty, and Zine Tseng as Princess Gulun Shou'an.

Joseph Fiennes and Natascha McElhone play Sherlock's parents, while Max Irons plays Mycroft Holmes, and Colin Firth plays Sir Bucephalus Hodge.

This is Ritchie's second attempt at adapting the adventures of detective Sherlock Holmes, following his successful directing of "Sherlock Holmes" (2009) and its sequel starring Robert Downey Jr.

Although directed by Ritchie, the "Young Sherlock" series has no official connection to the previous films.
